Once again, we are very happy to share with you the most recent issue of our newsletter, Bread Broken & Shared because we consider you part of our Eucharistic family! We give special tribute in this issue to our Founder, Saint Peter Julian Eymard whose birth and baptism we celebrate in February.
This issue includes a few more of our religious who have had Jubilee celebrations. Dedication to religious life is to be highlighted. In this issue, we share with you our joy in the 60 years of priesthood of Father Ernest Falardeau SSS and the 60 years of religious life as a brother of Brother Austin Coleman SSS. Both of them are religious who have lived out their commitment to God, the Church and God’s people. Please join with us in thanking God for their lives and ministry.
The largest part of this issue of our newsletter focuses on the five missionaries who graced the USA with their presence as they shared the story of the work of the Congregation in their homelands. They generously traveled around the country, preaching in parishes assigned to them in hopes of enlisting financial support for the vital work of the missions. It was great to have them here with us and we hope that you had the opportunity to meet one or all of them. If not, you can learn about them in this issue.
Our Eucharistic Family celebrates the lives of two people who are no longer in our midst but have gone to their heavenly reward. Father Sebastião Machado SSS from Brazil who has been our General Treasurer in Rome for several years, and Mrs. Mary Lipinski, a dedicated lay woman who has lived out her commitment to Christ and his Church as an Associate of the Congregation.
Nancy MacRoberts of Corpus Christi Parish in Houston, TX shares with us the Associate Happenings there. Scott Gongos, our Director of Mission Advancement, speaks about his special ministry for the Congregation and Saint Ann’s Shrine. Father Anthony Marshall SSS, our Vocation Director, shares how a parish can be a vibrant source of religious and priestly vocations in today’s world
We hope that you find the time to read this entire issue and learn more about the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and its ministry and mission – in this way, you can walk with us in the footsteps of our holy Founder, Saint Peter Julian Eymard. We wish you a Blessed Christmas and New Year and assure you of our prayers for the intercession of Saint Peter Julian for you and your families.
Whatever gift you are able to make, know it is most appreciated! Please include any special prayer intentions you would like us to remember. These intentions are prayed for by all the priests and brothers each day. It’s our simple way of saying “THANKS” to you who have been so good to us!
