Bread Broken & Shared: Spring 2017

Posted on April 7, 2017 by Anthony Marshall

Once again, we are very happy to share with you this most recent issue of our newsletter, Bread Broken & Shared because we consider you part of our Eucharistic family! At the outset, let us wish you a very Blessed Holy Week and a Joyous Easter! May the New Life that Christ brings us reinvigorate you and your families in our Catholic Faith!

In this Spring 2017 issue, we highlight the historic visit of our Superior General, Eugenio Barbosa Martins SSS, to the United States, and our communities, parishes, religious and Associates. Along with a short article, we include several photos that highlight Father General’s visit across the USA Also in this issue, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of two of our religious brothers, Brother Michael Angelus Perez SSS in New York and Brother Allen Boeckman in Cleveland, Ohio Please join us in thanking God for their lives and ministry.

Scott Gongos, our Director of Mission Advancement offers an invitation to all to the yearly Novena and Triduum in honor of Saint Ann and speaks of how you might become more involved in our mission.

We also recognize special donors who have helped us to continue our Eucharistic Mission. There is an article on Father Hashendra Perera SSS who is the SSS chaplain of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He comes to us from Sri Lanka and we are glad to have him in our midst. We share with you the dedication and outreach of our Associates in Winter Springs, Florida. How edifying they are! Riley Arnemann, our seminarian at Borromeo Seminary in Cleveland relates his experience at the March for Life in Washington, DC.

We hope that you find the time to read this entire issue and learn more about the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and our ministry and mission – in this way, you can walk with us in the footsteps of our holy Founder, Saint Peter Julian Eymard. If you have comments about the issue, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us online!

Whatever gift you are able to make, know it is most appreciated! Please include any special prayer intentions you would like us to remember. These intentions are prayed for by all the priests and brothers each day. It’s our simple way of saying “THANKS” to you who have been so good to us!
