Summer is already nearing its end. We come to you with our Fall 2019 edition of Bread Broken & Shared. We hope that you enjoy viewing this newsletter and learning more about the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and its activities.
This edition opens with a longer article about the Canonization Process of one of our religious brothers from the Italian Province. I hope that you find it interesting and informative. Please join with us in prayer as Brother Giovanni Nadiani SSS moves forward in the process toward sainthood.
Another piece of good news! Father Hernaldo Pinto Farias SSS, from our Province of Brazil-Chile-Argentina, has been named Bishop by Pope Francis. Although his episcopal ordination will have already taken place by the time that you read this article, join us in prayer for his fruitful ministry in the Diocese of Bonfim. Father Hernaldo was the former Provincial Superior of his province.
Saint Jean Baptiste in New York City is our first foundation in the United States. We highlight Angelica Contreras, the parish secretary in this number of our newsletter. She cheerfully greets all who come to the parish office.
The Center for Eucharistic Evangelizing has been in existence for nearly 30 years and continues its mission of excellent eucharistic catechesis and practice in the United States. Jim Brown, the present director, gives us a look at the history of the CEE. Jim Brown continues his introduction to some of the Associates of the Congregation in this issue. Read about these committed lay people who associate themselves with the Congregation.
Father Ernest continues with his contribution to Bread Broken & Shared with an article on the Priestly Prayer of Jesus. Father Falardeau continues to keep the theme of Ecumenism before our eyes encouraging each of us to pray and work for Christian Unity.
Scott Gongos, in his article entitled “Building Relationships Every Day!” shares with us his enthusiasm for the ministry of Saint Ann’s Shrine and the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. Plan to attend our Triduum next July!
We hope that you find the time to read this entire issue and learn more about the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and its ministry and mission – in this way, you can walk with us in the footsteps of our holy Founder, Saint Peter Julian Eymard.
Whatever financial gift you can make, know it is most appreciated! Please include any special prayer requests you would like us to remember on the enclosed reply form. These intentions are prayed for by all the priests and brothers each day. It’s our simple way of saying “THANKS” to you who have been so good to us!
In Jesus, Our Bread of Life!
