Once again, we are very happy to share with you the most recent issue of our newsletter, Bread Broken & Shared because we consider you part of our Eucharistic family! We think that you will find many interesting articles to read.
Many years ago, we shared briefly about the social outreach ministry of Father Robert Pittman SSS in Waldorf, Maryland. In this issue, we highlight the good things that are being accomplished at Body of Christ Farm. Although well into his 80’s, Father Pittman has the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger man.
We also share with you Father Provincial’s reflections on the special event that we celebrated in July, Celebrating the Gift of Self in the Year of Mercy. In addition, there’s an article about the event by Jim Brown, an associate and the coordinator of the event, accompanied by photos. On the international scene, Father Norman Pelletier SSS gives us a glimpse of our younger Asian provinces in his recent visit as he was asked to be part of the preparation of their young religious for their final religious vows.
We rejoice in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the priestly ordination of two of our priests – Father Robert Chabot SSS and Father Bernard Camiré SSS. We let them speak for themselves in an interview style article. In a future issue, we will share more jubilee celebrations of other religious.
Our Eucharistic Family recognizes the tremendous contribution that Bubba and Patty Pizzitola of our Corpus Christi Parish in Houston, Texas have made to both the Center for Eucharistic Evangelizing as well as the Eucharistic Associates of the Congregation. They deserve all of the praise that is given, and even more. They are among the examples of how our lay Associates have become an integral part of our lives and ministries.
We welcome a new staff person, Mr. Scott Gongos, as the Director of Mission Advancement. Saint Ann’s Shrine shares some special moments from the Annual Triduum in honor of Saint Ann. In his contribution, Father Ernest reflects on Ecumenical and Eucharistic Spirituality. Our Vocation Director, Father Anthony, shares some good news from the Vocation Office.
We hope that you find the time to read this entire issue and learn more about the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament and its ministry and mission – in this way, you can walk with us in the footsteps of our holy Founder, Saint Peter Julian Eymard.
Whatever gift you are able to make, know it is most appreciated! Please include any special prayer intentions you would like us to remember. You can submit prayer intentions here. These intentions are prayed for by all the priests and brothers each day. It’s our simple way of saying “THANKS” to you who have been so good to us!
